Tourism
Tourism is a project that takes interest in the phenomenon of the travelling man. Tourism as a concept is the opposite of everyday life - it's the 'off' time.
Tourism examines the subject's relations:
- to themselves (self-theatrical)
- to the other / fellow traveller
- to tradition / stereotypes
- to the new environment (known/unknown)
- to free time / special / exceptional
Physical manifestation:
Installation of film, slide projections and photo boards. The film is a split=screen showing one side the subject posing in front of the camera, choosing expressions, sleeking the hair while of the other side, someone is photographing or recording their act.
In fact, the subject is an 'actor' entering the field of the self-theatrcal by playing the roles of a model, a stylist, a film director, an art director...
